Job Description:

Infectious Diseases & Internal Medicine Associates is seeking a board certified/board eligible Infectious Disease physician to join our group. We are a well-established, highly respected practice located in Albuquerque.

​

Duties include:

Inpatient ID consultation services & Outpatient Clinic. The outpatient clinic includes an active infusion clinic, wound clinic and travel clinic. The group is also involved in infection control and antibiotic stewardship with the surrounding hospitals. In addition, we have a busy HIV and HCV practice. Our practice works in close collaboration with the University of New Mexico ID Division and we also have close ties with the microbiology team with the local lab. The state ID/epidemiology office is also readily available.

Responsibilities for this position would be 100% ID.

​

Certified Wound Care Nurse

Seeking experienced Full time Wound Care Certified Nurse for an Infectious Disease practice, M-F 8-5

Due to the increasing demand for wound care services, our outpatient clinic needs more clinical support. Looking for an individual who is willing to evolve with our multidisciplinary practice as the demand increases. This is a busy office that requires dedication & accountability from each team player to provide outstanding care to our patients.

We perform ID office and hospital consultation services including an active outpatient infusion clinic, wound management, general outpatient consultation, HIV care, travel clinic, infection control, and antibiotic stewardship.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive wound care to patients, including assessment, treatment, and ongoing monitoring.

  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized wound care plans.

  • Conduct regular assessments of wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

  • Educate patients and their families on proper wound care techniques and prevention strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols to minimize the risk of wound infections.

  • Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing as needed. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all wound care interventions.

 

Qualifications:
  • MUST HAVE - Valid nursing license and certification as a Wound Care Nurse.

  • Previous experience in wound care management required.

  • Knowledge of various wound care techniques, including debridement, dressing selection, and negative pressure wound therapy.

  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, such as eClinicalWorks, for documentation purposes.

  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

  • Ability to provide health coaching and education to patients regarding wound care and prevention strategies.
